CENTENERY CAMP
|
Upon the weekend of.... scouts from allover the country took to their local camp sites to celebrate 100 years of scouting. unlike any other county in the country, greater manchester west held their camps over the 3 main sites, Bispham hall, dunnam massey and our very own middlewood. this tooks months and months of planning, and many tedious meetings. in the end, thanks to all the hard work put in, the camps were a sucess- even if the weather did turn against us! all 3 of the camps were connected via screen link ups which meant that opening and closing ceremonies were shared by all- truly bringing scouting inot the 21st century! the weekend was full of activities and competetions such as time capsule, mosiacs, radio broadcasting, tent pitching, and rocket making to name but a few. all this along with scouting traditons such as campfire and scouts own added together with a few new ones like the talent show! As well as the participants camping, there were also day visitors young and old including our cubs. even though they only got a small taste of the weekend and judging from the smiles all over their faces, they had a great time. it was an amazing weekend and all involved thoroughly enjoyed it, take a look at the photos if u dont beleive it! |
